Race Action Photos

I have started giving away a couple of complementary 8 1/2 x 11  photos each night through the race tracks prize drawings. If you won one of the pre-stamped postcards for a free photo, browse the catagories and choose the photo you want, fill in the file number of that photo,  clearly print your name and return address and drop in the mail box. I will send your selection by priority mail–please allow 3 weeks for delivery.

It has been a busy last few weeks, I spent May 16th through May 23rd in Indianapolis to watch practice and qualifying for the Indy 500, then went back out the next weekend for the race on May 30th. Dario Franchitti won his second Indy 500, and Dan Wheldan also a former winner finished in the runner-up spot for the second year in a row. It was an exciting race with crashes and fuel mileage playing a large role. I have posted quite afew photos from the activities there, including a couple of a very large helicopter there for Armed Forces Day at the track, he gave the folks in the Pagoda a good close view when he took off. Jack Nicholson was the honorary starter and stayed on the flagstand for about 21 laps.
I then spent Thursday, Friday and Saturday, June 3rd, 4th and 5th in Knoxville for the Outlaws, 305s , Masters Classic, and the 360s. Thursday and Friday saw great racing with Saturday being rained out and also a rainout the next Saturday June 12th. I have posted photos from these races also, and as always I take many more photos than I post so if you would like to see more of a particular driver, email or call and I will post more. Lets hope the rains on weekends will stop, this coming weekend are races at Knoxville and the Indy cars at Iowa Speedway.

Congratulations to Johnny Herrera for the 410 championship and to Clint Garner for winning the 360 championship.

We are in the process of redesigning and updating the web site, I don’t know when the new site will be on line but it should be fairly soon. I also noticed that the spam has been removed from the “Guestbook” and I welcome everyone to leave comments.

Photos can be viewed by going to Photography–the most recently posted in all categories can be viewed by clicking “Newly Added”–specific cars or drivers can be seen by clicking the car no. button or driver button, then entering the no. or driver name. Wrecks can be seen in the “Spills and Thrills” category, winged sprint cars are divided into “Winged” and “Outlaw” categories, wingless sprint cars are in the Non-winged category, Indy cars, late models etc. are in “Other Action”. Double clicking the “thumbnail” gives you a larger picture to view.

The file numbers tell you the track–the date the picture was taken, and the actual number of the photograph taken that day–example: K80808-76 means the photo was taken at Knoxville, on Aug. 8, 2008, and it was the 76th picture I took that day.

I also want to mention that the photos on the site are low resolution and some are un-cropped or not centered and may appear to be poorly exposed. All photos and any items you order from this site are high-resolution, cropped to provide the best image and are properly exposed. All items are guaranteed to please you. I take many more pictures than get put on the site, so if I haven’t posted any of the car or driver you like, call or email me and I will post others.
