Congradulations to Tim Shaffer for his first Knoxville Nationals win, and to all the participants in all the features. It was good to see so many Knoxville regulars do well, especially Brian Brown for winning the pole, and Davey Heskin who led the “locals” with an 8th place finish.
I’m continuing to post photos of the Nationals, but don’t hesitate to email me if I haven’t posted photos of your favorite yet, I also have photos from the wingless races at Knoxville and Oskaloosa to upload. I’ve been asked by several people if I have photos of certain wrecks and to get them on the site so I will be uploading those also.
We were treated to another exciting Knoxville 360 Nationals, and congradulations to Shane Stewart, Sammy Swindell and Jason Johnson for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the “A” main, and all the feature winners.
I Keep promising myself to keep this blog more current, and I really will. It’s been another exciting season at the Knoxville Raceway this year, the “A” mains especially have been close and exciting, showing us how skillful these drivers are. The points races are close in both divisions with Brian Brown leading Don Droud Jr. by 81, and Clint Garner ahead of Dustin Selvage by 35.5 points heading into the last sprintcar race of the season next Saturday night. There have been several new drivers on the podium through out the season, which also adds excitment and demonstrates that the skill level is very high of not only the drivers but the crews as well. Every race the Knoxville Fire and Rescue Crew works hard and skillfully, and deserves a great deal of praise and appreciation for the difficult job they do, and the track officials and staff do as well.
I will continue posting photos of the weekly races as well as the Nationals, the wingless and 305 races in Knoxville, and some wingless photos from Oskaloosa also. As always I take many more pictures than I can post so if you don’t see the car or driver you root for or want to see more, please email me.
June 19th was Mid-Season Championship Night (already) with Don Droud Jr. winng the 410 feature, with Chad Humston and Tasker Phillips taking the 360 and 305 features respectively.
June 26th saw good racing in all three classes again, Brian Brown, Dustin Selvage and Tasker Phillips (for the second week in a row) won the features.
July 3rd was twin feature night for the 360’s followed by the ”Fireworks Extravaganza” which was a great show. The 410 feature was won by Mark Dobmeier, and the two 360 features were won by Chad Humston and Jon Agan.
Congradulations to all the drivers and crews, Mark Dobmeier in his post race interview said how many times a week they race, how they work nights getting the cars ready, and that they all have day jobs too. It takes alot of dedicated people and families to give us these great shows every week.

The vintage racers were on the track June 25th for nostalgia night, they are all beautiful machines that bring back alot of great memories, I’m always happy to see that so many have survived and been restored, and wonder about the fate of so many others I remember. I took many pictures that night and had fun Saturday meeting alot of the owners/drivers and printing photos for them. I took many more photos than I can post on this site, but will be happy to post photos of any car you are interested in if you will email me.
